When running Torchlight under Windows XP, I receive the following error message: Access is denied. How can I resolve this issue?
This issue affects Windows XP users only.
You may encounter an error message (Access is denied) if there is a permissions issue with your Shared Documents folder.
How to Resolve
The following steps may resolve the situation:
- Download and extract fixpermissions.zip. The zipfile password is torchlight.
- Run fixpermissions.bat.
- After it completes, try launching Torchlight again and enter your key.
If your receive an error message or it does not work in some other way, you may need to reboot your computer into Safe Mode in order to run this fix.
